Bendre Tribute group show at suchitra art gallery

Saturday.. a day I am walking in different galleries since 1992.

usually it is a weeky pilgrim to janhagir art gallery and around Kalaghoda area.

one has to take an extra effort to visit galleries other than this area.

Museaum Art Gallery, Hacienda, Artsit center, ICIA, and some times Gallery beyond.

But this saturday is different.

I am at Suchitra Art gallery, Opposite Mehboob studio, Bandra, Mumbai.

it is the group show of the bendre foundation art camp-2010
The show is organized by BENDRE FOUNDATION and sponcered by Mr Gautam Khatri of SUCHITRRA ART GALLERY.

I must thank Sharanu Alloli for making me a part of the group and gave me so many new friends-

like Padmnabh  Bendre Sir, Vijaya and Nitin Kalyan, Sonali and shailendra Iyanger, Amit Patil.

The introduction to Sir Andani VG is a life changing event in my life.

well,

today I am in mood to write about the tit bits about the last evening.

I was the first person to reach the gallery in the evening, while evry one in gallery was still preparing for the evening party.

I am impressed by the display of the work and lighting for the paintings.

I met Mr.Gautam Khatri...very first time. and avoided telling him- that for the ten years of my early schooling - I was the student of SARASWAT KHATRI VIDYALAYA, SUDIYA, VARANASI, where my father was a teacher too.

So, I have a deep karmic relationship with the word 'Khatri'.

the girl in the dark black round glass is Munish. who is here to shoot pictures.

she was first person with camera, invited by PR.

slowly slowly peoplehave started coming.

Sharanu, Prakash Ghadge, Vijaya and Nitin, Amit, Sonali, Kamalkant, Satish Parashar.

Mumnisha shot our photos along with the statue of legendry N.S.Bendre.

Gradually the group turs into crowd.

Anusha Narad appeared with the people who matter the most in a event like this.

the Media.

people who will spread the words and images around.

people who create success and GLAMOUR....!

Actor Tushar Kapoor is the star attraction for the evening.

and the media is here to follwo him.

along with every artists, I am also getting introduced to him...

(and wonder what he is feeling right now !)

HE lights up the lamp in front of the statue.

only Mr. Bendre is standing near him.

no one is claping as every one is busy in clicking the photo.

(and we need free hands to clap)

so initiated the claping and people with free hands followed.

In between I am aware for the people who are coming. specially who are friends and invited by me.

Tushar Takes the round of the show. and every artist is getting the chance to talk to him about his work.

my turn.

i told him that this work is based on a photo shot in Girgaon.

he said- my father stayed there.

Sharanu had a great time today.

One of his work sold- even before the exhibition opened.

He has the full family to celebrate along with her wife mother and sister...I watch him.

Anuja gupta came as Tushar was about to go.

I was waiting for tushar to go-so that the event can again become an art event.

film personaltes dilute the importance of the event and divert it from the very purpose.

though they help to get the event noticed in the media.

Samir Mondal is here too. He is one of the Star artist for the evening along with Prithvi soni, Bilash shinde.

I was waitnig for Charan Sharma, who said in the morning that he will try to come.

I introdued Anuja to all my artist friends and make her shoot photos with their work.

My work done in the camp is in the corner and could not get the camera attention at all.

I am enjoying the evening.

Arun Mishra, Tuka Karve and vishwanath mishra came after 8pm.

they liked my work.

this group are friends are  always very honest in his comments and i value them too.

as Tushar left- media people started relaxing.

the noise of whispering has got louder.

people started leaving the hall.

i say- thanks to Mr.Bendre and Mr.gautam Khatri...

came down to catch a public transport to borivali ....back home !
