blogging and facebook

i wanted to write on blog and then post it on facebook.
but from last few months - i am not doing that.
facebook is too easy to use..and for blogging you need to work differently.
now i regret - and wish to come back on blogging-

I will be traveling a lot in next few months.
this could be great if I can write all -some where.
but this has never been possible in the past.
usually, we all start writing in the beginning
then it gets delayed
and we have to move on with life

In last few months
life is changing
as new things happen
new friends come in life
you try learn -
this time
I need to learn German

my language faculties are not sharp
i know this very well
it took me years to learn
writing in English
and the best way to learn this is
writing love mails
;-)
I am working on a video project
 when i told to the officials of the German consulate
that
I am doing a film on myself
they had a question mark on their face.
but then why you need to go to the Germany?
I do not remember-
what was my answer
but they agreed
because of the invitation i had.

I was researching the project
and thinking hard about it.
this is a chance to experiment with my videos
and surly this is going to change





 

Change Change change

Change
we all want Change, but at the same time we avoid change.
We want to move in a better way of living, healthy, wealthier and more success.
Yet we do not want to change.
We want new but also cling to the old.

We want to go to the places but miss home.
We want t grow but miss the childhood.

I decide to change consciously.
I decide to take a leap in the unknown.

I move into arts and film making...in a big way.

Bombay now Mumbai- Acryelic on canvas by Ravi Shekhar

The changing face of the urban landscape is graphically portrayed in oils and acrylics by artist-photographer Ravi Shekhar in his display aptly titled “Bombay Now Mumbai”.

A native of Benares who has made the transition to Mumbai, Ravi graduated from the Benares Hindu University in 1980 and went on to get a diploma in photography. He has exhibited regularly at the Hacienda Art gallery, Legacy Art Gallery, Artist’s Centre and with the Bendre Art Foundation’s group show at Suchitra Art Gallery in Mumbai.

He has broken new ground as a digital film maker with his documentary films on such luminaries as Raghu Rai, Himmat Shah, and Baiju Parthan. His hour long video based on the interview and visuals of Mumbai was the part of the Bose Krishnamachari’s prestigious installation ‘Ghost Transmemoir’, which was shown in various cities like New York, Paris & London.

In his recent works on canvas, Ravi Shekhar makes good use of dramatic contrasts to juxtapose an old chawl against a high-rise, with loving detail and takes aerial view to render his cityscapes in abstract terms.

my last post here was in july..shame shame ravi..why don't you write and share things more often here.
i know you are happy posting on FB and not here. BAD
here it is more personal i feel.
august is rainy days in mumbai and in life too.
after BEING RAGHU RAI, my next film is with JAGDISH AGARWAL.
I am still in the process on interviewing him...but it will certainly take little more time.
in between i have to complete two small films.
my film-editor friends Bibhash is not free and i am fully dependent on him.
so all film projects follows his time table of working.
I am the part of a group show too..will be showing first time in Museum Art Gallery at Kala Ghoda.
and i have to work for that. i am still in process- what i am going to show their.
my mind is in deep creative stress at the moment.
so thats all this august post friends.
lots of films to share here. but i need to focus on my work right now.

finally I could do the film-thanks to Sudharak Olwe and Sunjoy Mehta, who helped in making the film.
The film was screened many times for my friends, artists and students of photography. But still awaiting a big screening.
